Safety and Survival courses (STCW Chapter VI)

Where two options are specified for course duration, option one is for refresher course and option 2 is for basic course.

• Basic Safety Training – 16 and 58 hrs
• Advanced Fire-fighting – 8 and 38 hrs
• Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (other than Fast Rescue Boats) – 8 and 32 hrs
• Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats – 8 hrs
• Medical First Aid – 24 and 30 hrs
• Medical care – 16 hrs
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, use of automatic external defibrillator – 4 hrs.

• Survival in cold water.
