Courses for Cadets and Students

The Makarov training centre provides all mandatory courses for cadets when they are going to start sailing practice. All the cadets have to pass Basic safety training and Maritime Security training on completion of which they obtain STCW certificates.
When graduating all the cadets pass First Madical Aid, Advanced Fire Fighting and Survival Crafts courses. Deck cadets pass Radar, ARPA, ECDIS and GMDSS ROC courses for obtaining COC at the Russian Harbour Masters’ office.
All these courses are covered by the University and are free of charge for the cadets.

Training for the certain types of ships (tankers, chemical and gas carriers, passenger vessels, polar waters training, DP etc. ) as well as GMDSS GOC is provided by the Makarov training centre on request of the shipping companies or cadets and to be paid.
